Workbench

We went to the Workbench one weekday afternoon and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. The food came in generous portions and the general consensus was that we enjoyed the sides very much. A lot more than our burgers, in fact.

Garlicky Honey Paprika Wings ($10.90)
Chicken wings with crispy skin, served piping hot. Although I couldn’t taste the garlic, I enjoyed the wings. The sweetness of the honey was apparent without being overpowering.

Signature Truffle Fries ($9.90)
As with all truffle fries – delicious when hot, mediocre afterwards. We enjoyed it until our mains arrived and we realised we had too many fries.

Salted Egg Chicken Burger ($16.90)

Nothing much to say about this because I only tried a small portion. I thought it looked impressive though, with the large slab of chicken and overflowing salted egg sauce.

Egg Lava Beef Burger ($16.90)
I had high hopes for this because I love burgers, eggs and bacon. I expected a heavenly combination but the burger was far too salty. The bacon was far too fatty – fatty bacon is good, pure fats not so much.

To be fair, my experience might have been marred because I could only chew on the right side of my mouth (dodgy tooth on the left). I would like to go back to try their Crab Meat Linguine. I hope their portions of crab meat are as generous too.
